Crochet time

Crochet time ..... is the time of the day when I am taking the girls to their dancing and gymnastic lessons and I while I wait .... I crochet!

This diamond cushion cover I made I used Moya yarn in the colours Ice Blue and Snowdrops.

I decided to hand sew them together and I am so happy with the end result.

I  love the simplicity of this diamond design and I really want to make a blanket now!

This little sheep I made for Yarndale 2016. Hes really tiny and cute and a very easy, quick project.

I have just finished my Spring Flower cushion and one of my favourite stitches I have learnt to crochet is the Popcorn stitch!

I used the Moya yarn in Charcoal and Rose Quartz.I just love the Charcoal!

I followed a great tutorial/ blog for this flower cushion called http://dada4you.blogspot.com/

This blog has beautiful designs and patterns which are so inspiring.

Popcorn love!

For the border I decided to use the Dandy Border pattern from my favourite crochet designer Haafner Linssen from her book called "Hooked on Mandalas "

The completed cushion with 16 squares all  crocheted together.

Time for coffee and onto my new crochet project!!

Have a happy week!

Follow your curiosity

This is my hexagon blanket I have been busy making
for my new little nephew who was born in March.

I am so happy with the way it has turned out and already have plans to
start a new one! I love the colours and how they work so well together.

My favourite yarn to use is Moya Yarn. It is 100% organic cotton, hand dyed
and so lovely and soft to work with. I am selling this yarn so if you are interested
just send me an email. The catalogue of colours is amazing!

Sweet hexagon dreams.

Footprints in our hearts.

I have been scrapbooking the sunsrise and sunsets in April.

This photo was taken at our favourite beach which is a few minutes away from us.
The weather at this time of year has been amazing!

 Beautiful Fish Hoek beach!

We were so blessed to go away a few weeks ago for the weekend
to Franschoek. We went to Haute Cabriere which is a stunning wine farm
with breathtking views.

On the weekend  we decided to hike up Lions Head. It was a tough climb up boulders
and up ladders but the view from the top was so worth
all the effort!

On top of the world! Magical Cape Town!

I was so happy to spend some time with my "big" sister who was
visiting Cape Town for a few days!

Have an awesome week!

Hello November....

It is hard to believe its already November and nearly Christmas! All the Christmas decorations are in the stores and the busyness of end of the year has begun.  It has been a very busy week and my husband was also  away on business.  We spent a much needed relaxing weekend  at my nieces apartment in Camps Bay while she is way overseas. There is something so  simple and beautiful about this seaside little bay near Cape Town city centre. We took a long walk along the coastal road and stopped at a favourite coffee shop "Baked". Delicious cinnamon croissants and the much needed strong cappacino!

I never get tired of watching the sunset with my man!

Sunday morning we ventured back to our coffee shop for  almond croissants! I think this could become a Sunday morning tradition! Just like every morning in Paris!

I could not resist this pattern when I saw it on one of my favourite crochet blogs -  http://byhaafner.blogspot.co.za/! The first square of a new blanket! I am using MoYa yarn in a gorgeous  - Lilac colour. This pattern is using a new stitch I learnt - the Popcorn stitch! I love the way it "pops" out!

I started joining the little hexagons  together for the little baby blanket for my niece. Slowly making progress.

My first large granny square blanket is now all finished and being put to good use! Magazine, coffee and chocolate break!

I am so excited my MoYa yarn order arrived! So many beautiful colours!

A friends yarn order is all packaged and ready to deliver! She chose a lovely cream -" Sand" and is making a beautiful skirt. I will post pictures when she is finished.

I am now a MoYa yarn supplier - so if you are interested in ordering please send me an email and I will send you my catalogue of colours.

This week I plan to start a few gifts for Christmas presents and a new little Christmas cross stitch!

What are your Christmas plans?

Happy creating xx

The sweetest things ...

This is a pattern that is really easy and really fun and relaxing to crochet! I chose lovely "Vanilla",  "Ocean" blue and "Adventurine " blue yarn from Eco - Cotton.

The circles of blues and cream are just so pretty and remind me so much of waves and my beloved ocean! So calm and peaceful.

It has been a busy week but I managed to sneak in some quick walks on Kommetjie beach. We can just feel summer is on its way! Its such a great feeling!

My happy place where I can breathe and relax and soak up the loveliness of this beautiful beach!

Spring is here and the cutest little flowers are popping up everywhere. I took a walk on the Noordhoek common which is bursting with these tiny little flowers!

Living near this beautiful ocean is our treasure! I leave you with this beautiful quote that a friend shared this week
 -
"The best things in life are nearest. Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the starts, but do lifes plain, common work as it comes , certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life."
- Robert Louis Stevenson

Have a wonderful weekend of creating and loving the sweetest things in life!

Hello weekend!

This week has been busy with finishing off this little hippo and starting something new.

This hippo is so lovely to crochet and Kerry Lord the designer of these gorgeous animals is really amazing!

This little face!

My eldest daughter chose the little hippo and I added  the tutu and ballet shoes as my daughter is a ballerina!

The little tutu and ballet shoes are a standard size and fit all the Edward's Menagerie animals. So cute!

It really feels like Spring is here in Cape Town. I am making something special for a friend and decided to try making roses. I used Attic24 pattern and I am really love these little roses!

I went shopping for some new yarn and couldn't resist these gorgeous colours from Eco Cotton!

Vanilla, Ruby and Bordeaux ...stunning reds!I added some of my MoYa yarn too.

Now I just need to sew them all into position and add some pretty beads.

Happy weekend!! xx
