Crochet time

Crochet time ..... is the time of the day when I am taking the girls to their dancing and gymnastic lessons and I while I wait .... I crochet!

This diamond cushion cover I made I used Moya yarn in the colours Ice Blue and Snowdrops.

I decided to hand sew them together and I am so happy with the end result.

I  love the simplicity of this diamond design and I really want to make a blanket now!

This little sheep I made for Yarndale 2016. Hes really tiny and cute and a very easy, quick project.

I have just finished my Spring Flower cushion and one of my favourite stitches I have learnt to crochet is the Popcorn stitch!

I used the Moya yarn in Charcoal and Rose Quartz.I just love the Charcoal!

I followed a great tutorial/ blog for this flower cushion called http://dada4you.blogspot.com/

This blog has beautiful designs and patterns which are so inspiring.

Popcorn love!

For the border I decided to use the Dandy Border pattern from my favourite crochet designer Haafner Linssen from her book called "Hooked on Mandalas "

The completed cushion with 16 squares all  crocheted together.

Time for coffee and onto my new crochet project!!

Have a happy week!

Flowers for Memories #Yarndale2015

I have loved crocheting  these little flowers for this years  wonderful Yarndale 2015 project!

I used my MoYa yarn to crochet these little flower designs from  Lucy at "Attic24" blog and added cute little buttons.

I decided I would group the flowers into little "posies" of 4 flowers  and sew them all together. I added little leaves again using MoYa beautiful Whisper range of yarn. The colours are Mint and Azure.

This year Yarndale 2015 is in Skipton, North Yorkshire  on the 26,27 September. Yarndale is described as a festival celebrating all things woolly and wonderful! It hosts a wonderful selection of talented and passionate exhibitors. It also has skill demonstrations and textile workshops.

This year the creative community project is called "Flowers for Memories". They are working with a local artist Sheila Metcalfe ( known as the Crochet Queen) who  fundraises for the Alzeimer's Society.

This is a large scale creative project as Yarndale are inviting everyone to join in making a whole garden of flowers. You can make as many little flowers as you like and send them to Skipton where they will then create a rainbow themed wall of floral colour. This is going to look amazing!

I am so pleased to be a small part of this worthwhile charity event for Alzheimers Society!
There are some specific details for the flowers, so go to their site to get all the details:

Have a wonderful creative Wednesday and week! xx

Hearts and flowers...

I have been busy finishing off some new Teeny Tiny Tags. I couldn't resist making these little hearts and flowers with the MoYa yarn. Yes, I can't get enough of this beautiful yarn! It is so lovely to crochet with and the hand dyed colours are beautiful.

I used white cardstock and my cuttlebug to emboss the designs onto the tags.  The ribbon adds an extra special touch and will make any gift look pretty.

I found some cute little heart buttons and a simple teeny tiny white buttons for the centre.

It is a real winters day here in Cape Town today with rain and clouds over all the mountains. The perfect weather for a cup of coffee and warm blankets and finding time to do some CREATING! I'm going to try and add some squares onto my granny blanket today! What projects are you busy with or needing to finish?

Have a happy and creative Wednesday! xx
